Evaluation...
My original planned idea has differed from the actual animation I have produced, this is because I felt the simplicity of it worked a lot better than the way I planned it.
By using istopmotion I was able to produce my animation using settings such as "onion skin" I was able to ensure that I could move my characters back into the same position I had them in before and I could also move them as much or as little as I wanted to. I also set it to 12 frames per second meaning I had to make sure for every second I had to face 12 frames.
Originally I had made a voice over with Saima to add to my footage which was supposed to represent the boxing commentators, they shared a few laughs and jokes and some ouchs and woahs. But I felt that it made it look too amature and too long for the short animation so I cut it form the complete copy.
Since I completed my animation I have shown it to various people of different ages look over my animation and I received good positive feedback as well as some ways I could've improved it.
My aim was to produce a short stop motion animation for an audience of people around my age. I wanted to create a short filler which I visioned would be before a show on channels such as Comedy Central or MTV. It was suggested that I upload it to YouTube since I saw last I have had over 50 views on YouTube.
In the screening/focus group the audience all knew the target audience I had in mind and where it would fit on TV.
I was told by my audience that the choice of "eye of the tiger" as my backing track suited the storyline as its a classic tune that usually occurs in a boxing parody, they felt that it was a good use of sound effects the slap sounded as if the snowman a twigs broke a little proving that he is the weaker of the two, the crowd in the background which included boos and cheers, I wanted to use a good range of sound as I feel with sound we can hear what's going on without looking at the visuals. Well that's the positives!
Now for the negatives I was told there was too much camera movement and not enough character movement, I was told that a way to of prevented this would've been to use fewer over the shoulder shots and more wide shots, but I had to film it this way as my characters had a tendency of falling over and I also felt by using more camera movement I could show the chaos of the fight scene.
Another thing I found was most of my audience wanted the snowman to win instead of the sun, but I knew from the start I wanted the sun to win as in "real life" the sun melts snow inspiration came from the wizard of Oz "I'm melting" as you can see on my blog.

Task 1 extra

Pingu is an animation based on penguins in the Arctic much like the young audience of Bagpuss has the same sort of age group as there target audiences. Pingu's style of animation is also stop motion ofcourse :p the characters are all made using plasticine or clay the way they move is smooth and seems as if they glide along the set, most of the setting is usually simple and plain with only one focal point usually has something to do with the storyline to follow it's supposed to be set in an igloo. Pingu doesn't have much camera movement and each episode is really samey, there isn't any vocals used it is just slight sound effects for each penguin it's just gibberish but has undertones of real words that's why we know that it's aimed at a much younger audience then South Park.
Pingu was created in Switzerland by animator and creator Otmar Gutmann but is internationally known all over the world on kid TV starting in Switzerland then the rights being bought by the BBC as it also had British producers like "HIT entertainment" and "Hot animation" it has also got a cult following from Japan and on American TV. Pingu has been on air since the 1980s and has had three different voice actors for the main character Pingu. Each episode is roughly 5minutes long and the animation has changed to suit new technology in animation starting with claymation and then going up to a resin based sculpture but still the orginals are more popular. Each episode is made at 12 frames per second giving the illusion of movement.

Here is the link to my final completed version of my death match between Sonny Vs Frosty, in it i hope you can see that i have clearly though about sound effects e.g the punch sounds and background noise such as the crowd and also the soundtrack how it suites the genre of the animation and of course the movement in the figures i created.

Storyboard/sun
This is my storyboard and first attempt at the sun. I tried to make the sun look as manicing as my drawing however if I have more time I might recreate the sun but my first attempt isn't too bad to work with... The whole product is made entirely of plastacine.

Wizard Of Oz ''I'm Melting - only''
Gaining inspiration for the snowman melting from this particular quote from the wizard of Oz "i'm melting" i will have the snowman saying virtually the same lines as he melts and becomes a puddle.

Ken Fight Club | Robot Chicken | Adult Swim
this is where i got my inspiration from the way this characters are animated the fight, the blood how its vastly exaggerated the sounds and the blood. I like the way the characters interact and have a story also the cardboard mouths that move as they speak in time (too difficult but i will attempt!). the sound of the crowd in the background to create atmosphere.
final idea!
For my inital idea i am going to create a fight scene with a snowman and the sun, much like the cartoon "robot chicken" my animation would be in the same sort of style as well as both characters being made out of plastacine and robot chicken has a lot of fight scenes and sound effects but also getting some inspiration from the film "snowman/snowman and the snow dog" as inspiration or style of snowman happy and cute looking, but also considering I'm planning or having the snowman "melt" much like the witch does in the wizard of OZ perhaps even have the snowman say that line "I'm melting". I think my animation is suitable for an inbetween two shows as a programme filler i think possibly comedy central or MTV considering its only about half a minute just to fill in before the next show. The sound effects i will use will be the punch sound effect as the animated arms swing at one another (they could be formed from the rays of the sun). For my set im going to made out of cardboard box with either a forest scene or background city scene painted on it, i might use cotton wool on the floor to add more texture to the scene.

We were given a task on sound and how effective it was. so we decided to take a board pen and gave him a plasticise hat and face also made a microphon as we were going to make it as a comedy sketch because of the sound effects we found was a crowd cheering and laughing. By moving the object slowly we've created to impression that it is a comedian telling a joke. We have also added a voiceover containing the "punchline" of a joke which the character could walk of stage to.
